When my little Maltese Sophia passed away unexpectedly I was completely heartbroken and tried to cope with my sadness through my art. I kept asking myself if I was ever going to see her again and if there was an afterlife where we would meet, so I envisioned a garden full of life, color and flowers. I couldn't get away from the dark outlines because I had to express my pain for her loss. I found my peace by creating this painting, adopting a little dog from the shelter and envisioning Sophie being protected and loved by an angel while my time comes to meet her again.
I like this artwork. It reminds me of where I imagine my little doggie 'Scrubby' is, she is in the 'Merry Green Land' waiting for me, and it still breaks my heart every day having lost her after 17 years, she was my best friend and now I only see her in dreams sometimes. I have yet to make a sculpture for her. Thank you for showing it and your other paintings which are beautiful too.
